Peter Howells is an electronic engineer with 35+ years' experience. After graduating with a diploma and a degree in electronic engineering, Peter spent five years in industry as an instrumentation engineer. Soon after that he entered academia where he researched and lectured in the instrumentation and control field on industrial instrumentation, control systems, and embedded and high-level programming. He is an active member of the SAIMC and still plays a role in promoting technical education. When not writing or lecturing, Peter leads an active lifestyle and can be found hiking, climbing mountains, or spending time outdoors with his family.

Before joining Technews, Malckey worked in the electronic components distribution industry for over 5 years, gaining a thorough understanding of the South African electronics manufacturing and distribution industries. Driven by her passion for and her understanding of the SA electronics industry, she has led her team in publishing Dataweek, the only SA publication focused on electronics and communications technologies, for 19 years. Dataweek is the market-leading publication in its sector, respected by both readers and advertisers. A further endorsement of Malckey's knowledge and respect in the SA electronics industry is her key role as a committee member of AREI (The Association of Representatives for the Electronics Industry).
